Description
The Orbit is a laser presentation scanner. The item bearing the barcode is
presented to the scanner rather than the scanner being presented to the barcode.
In many tasks this is a more natural way of working particularly when it would be
awkward to pick up a scanner each time a barcode is to be read.
The Orbit is suitable for very high throughput operations. It achieves this
through an aggressive decode action coupled with the ability to acquire barcodes
presented at any particular orientation.
The Orbit is commonly found in retail stores at the point of sale, in
laboratories and many other industrial, commercial and manufacturing
environments. It can be mounted in a fixed position to scan items on a conveyer.
This scanner it is so small and light it can even be picked up used like a
normal hand scanner if the need arises.
It has a very small footprint taking up hardly any desk space.
The head is easily adjusted to the optimum scanning position.
It has a wide ranging beep volume. It can be heard in
a noisy industrial or manufacturing environment or muted for use
in quiet areas like libraries and hospitals.
This is a fast, easy to use professional/commercial quality scanner
capable of very high throughput.
 |
This is easily our most popular presentation scanner.
The scanning pattern is generated
thousands of times each minute in a variety of directions so it is not necessary to
present the barcode in any particular orientation (omnidirectional scanning).
This makes it fast and easy to use.
We have lots of experience with this scanner- buy from us and you’ll
have a knowlegable engineer on hand to help should you
want to take maximum advantage of its many programmable features.

Scanners with USB interfaceUSB is often the best choice for modern PCs having a vacant USB connector and running Windows (XP, 2000, 98SE or later). A suitable driver is already built into Windows and some other operating systems. (A USB scanner acts like a USB keyboard- it uses a USB HID driver)

Scanners with KeyWedge™ interfaceKeyWedge is an easy and intuitive way to connect the scanner to a regular desk top computer. No software/drivers needed, just connect in the keyboard circuit and start scanning. Works with ALL applications and ALL Operating Systems- Windows, DOS, Linux, FreeBSD, Unix etc. Normal keyboard operation is not affected. (A KeyWedge scanner acts like a regular keyboard- it emulates the keyboard in hardware)
